The Annual Phillips' Mill 79th Juried Art Exhibition will open its doors on September 20th. It is the first and most continuous art event exhibiting the works of Delaware Valley artists. This show, which accepts only artists living within a 25-mile radius of Phillips' Mill is considered to be an important way to see the works of this areas best artists. Each year over 400 artists respond to this invitation and approximately 200 works are accepted.
The Exhibition takes place each fall and is not only a favorite with local art lovers, but also draws collectors and gallery as well as auction owners from New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey and other areas. As all artwork is for sale, this is a wonderful opportunity to purchase some great pieces. Mediums of art accepted include painting, graphics, other mediums and sculpture.
Over the past 78 years, the Art Committee has welcomed artists working in a wide variety of media and styles thus keeping the annual event fresh and in pace with the larger American Art Scene. Oils, watercolors, prints, mixed media, drawings and sculpture are all well represented. The Exhibition includes modern and abstract work as well as traditional styles.
Registration and submitting of artwork at Phillips’ Mill will take place Friday, September 5, 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 6, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
