"Phillips' Mill"

The first Phillips' Mill Art Exhibition took place in
1929, the year the Phillips' Mill Community Association
was founded. The exhibit displayed 125 paintings, drawings,
and sculptures submitted by 41 artists. Until 1937 the
art exhibitions were reserved for Association members.
Since then artists within a 25 mile radius of the Mill
have been invited to submit their works for a juried
acceptance into the exhibition. Nearly 400 artists now
respond to the invitation and over 200 works are accepted.
