Mary GL Hood (1886 -
1967) local resident Modernist painter; studied at the
Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and privately with
Arthur Carles; moved to New Hope in 1939; studied with
Charles Ward in Carversville. Exhibited work at the
Mill. Lived at Springdale farm. Active community member,
opening her house for Open House Days, meetings of the
Bucks County Historical Society and the Old York Road
Historical Society.
