Youth Drama & Children's Theater at Phillips' Mill - New Hope PA

The Phillips’ Mill Community Association is happy to announce that the Youth Drama Summer Program has not only been reinstated but also reinvented!

This successful program, which was postponed during 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, is back with a new instructor and a summer workshop that is especially relevant for tweens (see below).

The workshop, which will focus on monologue writing and performance, will be led by Fran Young, a retired high school teacher with decades of experience working with young teens.

Monologue Writing and Performance Workshop
August 9-13, 2021, 9 a.m. to Noon

Youth Theater at Phillips' Mill

The Phillips’ Mill Community Association is happy to announce their youth summer drama program, Monologue Writing and Performance Workshop. This workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn how to create a character and write and perform a monologue.  Children will be guided in a series of improvisation exercises and discussions to inspire their creativity and expression. Participants will be taught monologue writing techniques as they create their own works and then stage and perform them. 

Date: August 9-13, 2021
Time: 9 a.m.-Noon     
Age group: 10-13  
Cost: $50
Performance: August 13, 2021 - 7:00 p.m.
(Mask wearing and social distancing will be enforced. Audience will be limited to family and friends of the participants.)
Where: Phillips’ Mill Community Association, 2619 River Road, New Hope, PA 18938 

Instructor: Fran Young is a member of the Phillips’ Mill Community Association Drama Steering Committee. She has a degree in theater and English from Northwestern University. She is certified to teach English, Theater and Public Speaking and taught in Verona, NJ, for 39 years. Now retired and living in New Hope, she is eager to revive the Phillips’ Mill Youth Drama program.
