On Stage: The Land of Lost Stories

July 2016

The Land of Lost Stories

The annual children’s theater production in 2015 was “Land of Lost Stories,” an original show written by Kevin Nalty and directed and produced by Joey Nalty. Twenty cast members, ages 11 to 15, played some of the most celebrated characters from children’s stories — Peter Pan, Dorothy, Winnie the Pooh, Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid and Flat Stanley. In an age of technology and pop culture, these characters have been forgotten and discarded to an island, where each must make a personal change to return to the “hearts and minds” of children everywhere. Characters made their entrance via a slide on the stage, and escaped through a brightly glowing door nestled in a tree. The set was constructed by Jeno and Agnes Seitz.
