Today the winter solstice is a time for seeing family, giving gifts, and endlessly coordinating celebration plans that could go wrong at the last second because of the weather. But it wasn't always that way. Rewind the clock a century or three and the solstice was a time to spook and delight the whole family with ghost stories. At Phillips' Mill, we’re going to do the best of both!

Join us once again for Promises to Keep: A Yuletide Ceremony, where an ensemble of local actors will regale you with short ghost stories by masters of the genre like M.R. James and Edith Wharton, while we all sip warm cider, share popcorn, and keep a playful candlelight vigil to ward off the chaos of the holiday season.
