Our second photo exhibition of the year, the “Not Your Run of the Mill Photo Show” was held on April 24 - 30, 2022, following the prestigious Phillips' Mill Photographic Exhibition. It was a wonderful collection of work by our talented members.
A members' show had long been a dream that became a reality during COVID-19. The volunteers/photographers who work so hard to produce the esteemed annual juried Phillips' Mill Photographic Exhibition unified to become something truly exceptional: a cohesive, creative group of photo-oriented Mill members.
The Start of a New Tradition
In 2021, in response to ongoing COVID-19 guidelines, our innovative committee members opted to forgo a juried show of prints on the wall in our converted grist mill gallery to a singular, potent force of digital imagery. The "Not Your Run of the Mill Photo Show" was born!
All 29 image makers represented in the 2021 show, which you can view below, have a personal and emotional connection and commitment to the broad professional craft of photographic arts.
The group's core hallmark to present the strongest of personal work was clearly reflected in this show. Some refined, developed and went deeper into a look, one they may have constructed over decades, while others experimented with new work.
Each artist was invited to submit a body of work of up to eight images. This show is so unique because it gives artists the freedom to use photography to speak at length with the infectious visual medium. A declarative statement, a soft emotion, a composite or creation that stirs the soul or ignites a memory/dream, all wonderful in their freshness.
