It’s time for the beloved local tradition of the Phillips’ Mill Art Show to recur.
“We are officially inviting all artists in the 25-mile radius of the Mill to submit an entry at this time,” said Laura Womack, chair of the Art Committee for the 92nd annual Phillips’ Mill Juried Art Show.
Artists wishing to enter the show should visit the Mill’s newly redesigned website at phillipsmill.org/art/juried-art-show-prospectus. Entries may be submitted until Sept. 3. The show will run from Sept. 25 through Oct. 31. This year’s show will be a first for the prestigious exhibition because artworks will be hung in the historic gristmill and will also be available online.

“Many local artists look forward to participating each year and offer us their best work. We appreciate that because the show is a fundraiser for the Mill. We welcome new artists and younger artists to submit so the show stays fresh and evolves with the changing times,” said Womack.
Jurors for the show change each year and the five artists selected to be this year’s jurors include painters, printmakers and sculptors, with strong regional and even national reputations. Their biographies are outlined on the website.
Womack noted that “last year the pandemic forced us to go online and the upside of that is a whole new local audience discovered the show. Also collectors from outside our region found us. One of our missions is to support and promote our local artists who do so much to enrich our community. So we feel having the show in the Mill and online is the best way for us help our artists reach a wider audience.”
