The 2024 “Not Your Run of the Mill Photo Committee Show” included a “Backwall” display of self-portraits with commentary on how each image reflected the photographer’s style.
The historic theater at the Phillips’ Mill has hosted hundreds of plays and events since Dr. George Morley Marshall transformed the old mill into an arts venue in 1910. After researching the cost of renovating lighting and sound, we launched a campaign to raise funds for a much-needed upgrade. We are excited to share that we reached our goal!

The Youth Art Exhibition kicked off with two celebrations at the Mill, a Preview Party for Show Supporters on Friday night, and the Awards Ceremony for students, their teachers, friends and family on Saturday. A good time was had by all!

The Phillips’ Mill Community Association lost a past Board member and elected Honorary Member with the passing of Janet Marsh Hunt in December at the age of 95.
Thank you to everyone who made the evening such a success. The Preservation Committee held a Summer Fête to raise money for the Preservation Fund and honor Kathy and Ted Fernberger for their work over the years. It was a delightful evening of games, laughter and great food in a beautiful outdoor setting.
Matilda Bray, a poet and senior at The Solebury School, submitted one of her first plays to the competition last year, and encourages other young aspiring writers to do the same.

Traditions run deep at Phillips’ Mill and two of the most beloved are the Honored Artist and Signature Image for the Mill’s historic Juried Art Exhibition, now in its 94th year. In an unprecedented, exciting, and happy coincidence, independent voting for the two honors this year resulted in the selection of artist Pamela Miller as the recipient of both.
Ellie was an extraordinary person and I can say this because to date I have not met anyone like her. She was kind and thoughtful, pleasant and cheerful, gentle and generous. Everyone who met Ellie got the same impression of her and then remarked, “How did I ever meet such a sweet and lovely lady?”
Phillips’ Mill is proud to present “Voices: A History of the VIA of Doylestown,” a historical drama that celebrates the pioneering women who founded Doylestown Hospital 100 years ago.
The annual Spring Fling at the Phillips’ Mill Photographic Exhibition was held on Friday, April 14, for Mill members and their guests. Great attendance, wonderful weather and superb photographs made for another delightful evening at the Mill.
Jim Stinnett recently passed away at his home in Yardley, Penn., surrounded by family and friends. He was the husband of Carol Stinnett, Art Committee member and former Phillips’ Mill Art Show Chairperson. Jim and Carol were Lathrop Circle members and have, for many years, given an art show award for abstract painting.

When the 30th Annual Phillips’ Mill Photography Exhibition opens on April 2, 2023, it will be a collection of artwork carefully curated by internationally acclaimed fine art photographer Jill Enfield. A leading authority on Alternative Photographic Processes, Jill is also an educator and the author of three books on the subject.
